Well Known Fishing Areas:
The Mammoth Lakes Basin
Includes: Twin Lakes, Lake Mary, Lake George and Lake Mamie.
Offers: Angling opportunities for Rainbow, Brook and Brown trout. In the summer: Alpers trout.
Mammoth Creek
Runs east from the Old Mammoth meadow to below Hwy 395.
Offers: Pan-sized Rainbow or wild Brown trout.
Convict Lake
About 7 miles south of Mammoth Lakes.
Offers: rainbow and Brown trout.
Crowley Lake
Located just 12 miles south of Mammoth Lakes.
Offers: Anglers a chance at the big trout.
Note: There are unique regulations and you can inquire at the Crowley Lake Fish Camp.
Rock Creek Lake to Long Lake
Offers: An abundance of trout, Golden, Brook, Rainbow, Brown and Cuththroat.
San Joaquin River in the Redd Meadow Area
Some of the best fly fishing is found here in Mammoth Lkaes.
June Lake Loop
Includes: June Lake, Gull Lake, Silver Lake and Grant Lake
Offers: Trophy-sized Alpers trout.
